OpenMex 0.2 Alpha released!

November 2nd, 2003 by Mr.Mouse

Only two weeks after the very first release of XeNTaX’ open source project OpenMex we are proud to release the next alpha installment! Version 0.2 offers you increased functionality and more game resource archives (GRAs) to explore! Now you can open HALO *.MAP, Lock On *.CDDS and Sacrifice *.WAD GRAs! Here’s the detailed release info by programmer Captain:

* Release notes:

This is the second Alpha release of OpenMex, containing some
general improvements, and a couple of new archive types. Still
no importing of files into archives, which is scheduled for a later
release.

Old MultiEx formats were automatically converted to OpenMex
scripts by a custom converter. About 15% of the
new scripts has been tested and will work. Other scripts may or
may not behave as expected. If you find an archive that won’t
open or crashes (but works in MultiEx commander), please send
me a bugreport and I’ll fix it.

* Features:
Support for most MultiEx formats.
New GUI.
Opening supported archives.
Extracting from supported archives.

You can find more (download) info at XeNTaX’ OpenMex pages!
