ThiefMy, what a nice blog this is, and what a huge picture this is to put in a blog. Oh well, never mind, for a first post, this seems okay. It is a little getting used to, though, a lot of unknowns when I start. But I hope we can have a good site with this here system. The picture? From Thief 3.

XeNTaX moved to new host

Friday, March 19th, 2004 by Captain

Captain speaking here. We found a new host that delivers more options (and hopefully more stability). First impressions have been excellent, so I have high hopes. If you see this message, it means the DNS has propagated, and the move has been completed. There might be some minor inconveniences here and there that have to do with the move, but everything will be okay in the end.

EarthClock version 1.0 Beta released!

Saturday, February 7th, 2004 by Mr.Mouse

Here’s a nifty gem for you! EarthClock is a little app by Arjan Dikhoff (Captain Corny) that displays a realtime view of the earth, and overlays a clock. That’s all! The realtime view is accomplished by downloading images every 5 minutes from “Earth and Moon viewer” by John Walker. Basically, you can watch the earth slowly revolving from a choice of views, and it’s a clock too. Version 1.0 Beta introduces some nice eye-candy, which unfortunately comes with some pretty expensive image manipulations (alpha-blending and most notably bilinear filtering). The good news is that EarthClock is now skinnable (see readme.txt for information for creating skins)! Grab this shiny pearl at the EarthClock page where you will also find screenshots and more information!

Snapshots of old, historical Commodore 64 stuff!

Tuesday, January 13th, 2004 by Mr.Mouse

Just for fun, Mr.Mouse snapped some shots of old c64 progs that were created back in the late 1980’s-early 1990’s under the USB and XeNTaX label. 😛 My my, wasn’t that bad! 😀 Well, perhaps only all bad until 1991…

OpenGRAF online!

Sunday, November 2nd, 2003 by Mr.Mouse

Michael W. Zuurman set up the open Game Resource Archive Format (OpenGRAF) database to make public all known GRAFs in the community. In addition, its purpose is to reveal all GRAFs that are supported by the old MultiEx Commander and the new and shiny OpenMex! It will slowly but steadily grow in time, because it takes time to write it down (all 100+ formats). Anyone who has knowledge of a GRAF (game resource archive format), please send in this information so we can include it! Oh and if you’re wondering why we took the cross of a grave as the OpenGRAF symbol, translate “grave” into Dutch and you will get “graf” 🙂
