Sunday, February 3rd, 2008 by Mr.Mouse

I have installed phpBB3 and converted the old data of the Game Research Forum to the new one. Now we should have more functionality for users and be up to date at the same time. Some features may still be missing, which I hope to fix soon. Visit the new forum at: http://forum.xentax.com !

Robot Wars PS MexCom Plugin

Friday, July 27th, 2007 by Mr.Mouse

651-1.jpgThough an obscure game and hard to find, a request came in by fatduck to support *.DAT files of this game called Robot Wars. Notably, this should be from the Playstation (Portable?) version. You’ll note all the *.GIM files in the DAT archive, so this tells you it is indeed from some console game that used OPTPIX iMagestudio to edit the games’ textures etc. Get the plugin here.

MexComThanks to Sziládi Zsolt we now have a Hungarian version of MultiEx Commander! To install this translation all you need to do is unpack the zip archive and copy the “data” folder you obtain to the folder where you installed MultiEx Commander. You have two files: one in the data/eul folder and one in the data/languages folder. Simple!

MexComFinally, after more than a year, we release the latest installment of MexCom to the public. As other activities had priority for quite a while, users of MexCom had to wait, but now there’s the new version. And what has it got to offer? I think it best to just show the readme for all to see. If you don’t care and just want to get it, hop on to the download page. Otherwise: (more…)

MexCom 4.3 features in PC Gameplay!

Sunday, October 1st, 2006 by Mr.Mouse

PC Gameplay issueThe current issue of the Belgian PC games magazine PC Gameplay (October 2006) features MexCom! With the new release, 4.3.0, comes the Dutch language as optional language setting for the GUI. PC Gameplay was able to offer it to their Dutch-speaking readers exclusively before the rest of the world on September the 28th. Later today, we’ll release MexCom 4.3.0 to the public. Some quotes of their review of the new version: “MexCom uses a very simple user-interface that enables us to do much with just a few clicks“, “you always have a good overview of what’s going on“, “We were very positive about MexCom ‘s user-friendliness and support by its community“. Want to read the whole feature for yourself? Then rush out and buy the magazine!

Release of MexCom 4.3 1st of October!

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006 by Mr.Mouse

MexComJust a small teasing, yet informative post that the release of version 4.3 of MexCom is imminent. The public release is scheduled for the 1st of october. MexCom 4.3 will feature wiki ( http://wiki.xentax.com ) based game support, new games, new load archive dialog, new additions to the MexScipt, running non-compiled MexScript of game archives and more. So be sure to get it when it’s released. As the new version will make more use of our server, and a lot of effort was put into it, the minimum donation required to be able to make use of all advanced features will rise to a fee of $10. The unlocked features will continue to be available in up to three subsequent releases of MexCom!

Racing to our cause!

Chas racing How about some original ways to support MultiEx Commander, Chas and DavehI must have thought, and get a MexCom key in the process. First came Chas, a 16 year old young man from Michican, USA, who’s racing his bikes (4 of ’em) at national level, and an absolute fan of MX vs ATV Unleashed (“and I happen to be quite good at it”). He races the B class, but plans on moving up to the A class next year. Check out some of his racing pics here. He then came up with an original idea to support MexCom. (more…)
